Home & Commercial Inspections By Nelson Engineering LLC is a home and commercial property inspection service located in the San Diego area.  Tom Nelson is the founder of Nelson Engineering.  I am is a licensed engineer, and I have 30 years experience as a general contractor.  I have  been in residential and commercial building construction, as well as environmental services.  My long history of being involved in all different phases of construction for 30 years has given me extensive knowledge of construction methods used in older as well as newer buildings.  I have been a general contractor for new construction projects, as well as many remodels.  I have dealt with buildings built as early as the 1900's.  I also have extensive knowledge on building electrical and mechanical systems.  Before I became a general contractor I worked for the Unites States Government as a construction project engineer.
