At General Property Inspections (GPI), we’re proud to be a family-owned, full-service inspection company serving the Chicagoland area since 2000. What began as a retirement hobby for founder Bob Valan quickly grew into a trusted name in both residential and commercial property inspections.

Bob's son, Ryan Valan, played a key role in launching the business and expanding its reach into the commercial sector. Today, Ryan leads the inspection team as an InterNACHI® Certified Professional Inspector® and CCPIA-Certified Commercial Property Inspector, bringing professionalism, expertise, and a commitment to quality to every job.

Our team also includes Bill Kelly, Ryan’s father-in-law, who has been with GPI for many years. Bill specializes in relocation and residential inspections, further reinforcing the strong family values and dedication that define our company.

As our business continues to grow, we're currently training two new inspectors to join the GPI team—ensuring we can continue to meet the needs of our expanding client base with the same personal, reliable service we’re known for.
