Owner and lead inspector of One Up Property Inspections is a retired Air Force Mechanic and Education & Training Manager. He is a married father of 4 kids, ranging from toddler all the way to college age. During his time in the Air Force, he began taking a liking to home improvement projects. Through this he learned so much that he knew pursuing the career of being a home inspector was the right path to take. Being able to put the newly gained skills and knowledge to use and help others with making major life changing decisions when it came to purchasing a home.
After being in the US Air Force for over 20+ years and moving around quite a bit, Matt started to understand the importance of a thorough home inspection prior to committing to one of the biggest purchases that anyone will have. He purchased and sold numerous homes as well as worked with many other military members that did the same. During those processes, he came across a few inspections that were inadequate and incomplete and had the feeling that the inspectors really didn't care about others’ future investments. Some of which left messes behind and didn't catch some very obvious items or were just not personable people. With all of that in mind, Matt decided to go down that path and be the inspector that he wished he had all those times.
