Dane Zipperian
InterNachi Certified Inspector, ICC Certified Residential Combination Inspector (Residential Building/Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing)

Dane Zipperian is an ICC-certified home inspector, a distinction achieved by only a select few in Alaska. This certification authorizes him to perform new construction inspections, ensuring properties meet code standards from the foundation up. On average, Dane completes 350 to 450 inspections annually, serving clients from the Kenai Peninsula to Talkeetna and into remote Alaska villages.

Dane’s career is built on persistence and hands-on experience. In high school, he worked as a carpenter’s assistant, helping remodel homes and build additions. After graduation, he spent long nights in a sawmill stacking lumber, followed by roles as a heavy equipment operator in the North Dakota oil fields and as a deckhand.

Like many others, Dane joined the military seeking a new path and a way to escape life at home. Despite multiple setbacks from sports-related injuries, he pursued his childhood goal of serving in the U.S. Air Force and was accepted on his third attempt.

During his 10 years of service, Dane managed and inspected advanced weapons systems and oversaw the logistics of multi-million-dollar munitions stockpiles—work that demanded precision, accountability, and an uncompromising focus on safety. His career included overseas assignments to Guam and South Korea before eventually settling in Alaska. Originally from Montana, Dane was drawn north for its rugged landscapes and outdoor lifestyle, knowing he would feel at home in a place with so many similarities.

In addition to his inspection work, Dane is both a homeowner and rental property owner, managing multiple duplexes and investment properties. By the age of 30, he had purchased five homes, including a remote Alaskan cabin, giving him firsthand insight into the challenges and responsibilities of homeownership. This perspective allows him to approach inspections with both technical expertise and the practical understanding of a property owner.

Outside of work, Dane enjoys the outdoors with his spouse McKenzie and their three dogs—two American Akitas and a Husky. He spends much of his free time backpacking, hiking, fishing, and snow machining, embracing the lifestyle that makes Alaska unique. As a hobby, Dane is also remodeling a 35-foot school bus into a tiny home, a project that included cutting off and raising the roof 16 inches and welding it back into place—another outlet for his creativity and hands-on skills.
